Carol's Heart

My treasured sister in Jesus Christ and best friend, I miss you so much but I know we will spend an eternity together in Christ.

When my husband Mario and I were looking to adopt a dog after the death of our beloved dog Jerry, we went on the pet finder’s website. This is when I first met Carol Rockford, a retired registered nurse who had been taking care of many abandoned dogs for years. Carol did this kindly and very responsibly, combining her medical knowledge with her love for animals. She cared for many dogs, but also other animals as well when she was presented with their needs.

Carol had been taking care of an abandoned dog, who she knew needed a good home because she found him in her local shelter on what would have been his last day of life. She took him and two other dogs’ home that day, cared for them and contacted Friends of Homeless Animals, Inc, a Non Profit adoption organization. When his picture and story appeared on their website, we knew we had to apply for adoption. After the approval of our application, we adopted him and named him Davey. Carol contacted me many times the first few weeks to see how Davey was adapting to his new home. Even though we never met in person, we spoke on the telephone very often and became best friends having many long conversations about God and our love for animals.

Carol went home to be with the Lord, but her legacy is honored in this ministry by raising funds for animals, so that they may be taken care of properly, and not abandoned.

Thank you Carol, for all you have done and inspiring us to care for and bless the animals.
